OUR MISSION & VALUES

Handsworth Creative is a Community Interest Company and was formed in 2013, it is based in Handsworth and operates across North Birmingham.

Since forming we have undertaken a series of community-based arts activities in the Perry Barr and Ladywood Districts in Birmingham. We specialise in Visual Arts projects and developed the Handsworth Park Arts Trail, a three-year Arts Council England funded project. In 2017 we ran the Aston and Newtown Cultural Commissioning funded project, Veranda Stories, and in 2018 we completed a short film Gypsy Boy inspired by the recently discovered evidence that Charlie Chaplin was born on the Black Patch site in Handsworth.
